Joseph was thrown into the earth to die. It was a pit of betrayal, jealousy, bitterness, poverty and slavery. He was in a pit, but he was not alone. You may be in a pit, but you are not alone. You see, God is doing us a favor when He allows us to be so confined that we can only pray. This is how we get to know God. It is how He proves Himself to us. It’s where we experience first-hand His great sovereignty, abiding love and powerful deliverance. (Genesis 37, 39-47)
“unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit…” (John 12: 24-26)
“… you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God…” (Ephesians 3:14-21) Before there’s a filling up of the fullness of GOD, there has to be a rooting and grounding in love.
God is with you. Call out to Him. Experience His love.
The pit is preparation for greatness!
